After collecting our passport stamps, our journey unfolds with a delightful breakfast at Asados El Jicaro, nestled near the serene Lake Nicaragua, offering a picturesque backdrop of the majestic Concepcion and Maderas volcanoes.

A brief five-minute drive brings us to the enchanting city of Rivas, steeped in history and adorned with its iconic church, adding to the allure of this captivating destination.

Ascending to an elevation of 630 meters above sea level, we encounter a bustling craft market and a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the Apoyo Lagoon, Granada city, and the imposing Mombacho Volcano, providing a perfect opportunity to procure unique handicrafts.

Continuing our expedition, a short 25-minute journey leads us to the Masaya Volcano National Park, home to one of the country's seven active volcanoes, where we marvel at the sight of boiling lava and explore the remnants of past eruptions amidst fumaroles and volcanic rock formations.

Venturing onward, we make our way to a colonial-style city with a rich history spanning nearly five centuries, where we embark on a 50-minute horse-drawn carriage tour through its oldest and most historic quarters, pausing to admire Central Park, churches, and a chocolate and cigar factory.

Our adventure culminates with a refreshing boat excursion to the ASESE peninsula, comprising 365 islands, including the famed Monkey Island, where we engage with playful primates and offer them fruits, creating unforgettable memories against the stunning backdrop of the region's natural beauty.

As the day draws to a close, we embark on our return journey, arriving back at the border after approximately an hour and thirty minutes, where our driver awaits to escort us back to our respective hotels, concluding a remarkable Nicaraguan escapade.
